The following happened to me last week at The 2015 March For Life in Washington, D.C.:

             * I was swept up in sea of Pro-Life marchers
               from at least 38 states that were easily identifiable; quite
                 possibly all 50 states may have been represented.
       * I was impressed and moved by the large
                 turnout of high school and college students, men
                 and women who traveled long distances to march.
       Those who had attended previous Marches indicated
                 that there was a significant increase in youth attendence
                 over previous years.

              * I was humbled by the immensity and the
                 magnitude of the event.

            * I was able to formulate an idea of what I see as
                 the scope of the conflict between Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life.
                 The pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. afforded me
                 the opportunity to sit for a long time and ponder
               what it all means. I am finally able to put words
                 to what I believe is the cause of the problem:
   Many women forget the sacred responsibility
                 of their biology.

Evelyn,

I was not as fortunate as you to go to DC for the March for Life, but I was glued to the EWTN programming from 7:30 in the morning until the end of the march.

During that time frame there was a Mass celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception after a night long vigil there for LIFE. It was so meaningful.

Throughout the morning, there were people from all over commenting on the day and what it meant.

When it was time for the rally and that Mass, again I watched and prayed with all those who gave up their time, jobs, pleasures to be there for that great cause.

To see so many young people there was so amazing. What a blessing for DC to have the greatest number ever to show up for the March for Life.

It brought tears to my eyes when different people were interviewed along the path of the march. How important this is.. I could feel it as I watched. The day just flew by for me as I prayed all the mysteries of the rosary as you and the others marched. It was a slow, peaceful march as the Spirit moved all of you.

I was actually saddened by two things: the first was how fast it went by after so much preparation by those in charge. The other was that the regular channels when talking about it just made it something so regular and nothing special. I felt like saying to them, don't you know what this is all about?

May God bless in a special way the many groups who were there
in person and those who took part with the EWTN programming praying for an end to abortion.

Jacjie I also watched the march for life, and like you prayed the Rosary thru much of it.
It touched me to hear the testimony of the hardship of those struggling with the pain of knowing or think they know that there child will be born with a disabillity. I know some of these people are being encouraged to have an abortion, and thank God they didn't and are enjoying and loving there child.
When I worked for New York Tel. as a Medical Secretary, I had on my desk a book, Aborting America by Benard Nathenson. A doctor from corporate headquarters came in saw the book and said "I can't be leave Bernie is on the other Side now after doing thousands of abortions ,I went to school with Bernie" She then began to tell me of all the harm this law will create in society. " A girl will be giving a list of reasons to have an abortion, -finish school, shame, money,to young no father etc. She stated this law will cause emotional harm, it will increase pre marital sex and be used as birth control. These are thoughts of a doctor that not even thinking of the real reason that it is a life created by God, with a soul that will live for eternity and is ment to know Him love Him and serve Him. When a life ends is His dession. By not keeping His commandments will cause nothing but hardship. Let's do all we can to see that all life is respected. And this law is changed. God Bless all of you who went on this march, and thank you!

Fran,

So glad that we were praying the rosary together at the time of the march. The coverage was great all day. There is something special about being there that we definitely missed, but we had the next best thing with EWTN. I put my heart and soul and many prayers joining the marchers and I feel good about it.

May all those considering abortion go for help and not have to live with taking a precious God given life.

Allow me, Jackie...if you don't know Fran to introduce her: She one of our parish's "Giants of Prayer"! You two women should know each other. You may have a good deal to share.

Thanks for both of your comments. I am not sure how many people
know about the wonderful resource you shared. I saw the cameras of EWTN as we marched and tried to encourage Fr. Michael to wave to all his "peeps" back home. He's hard to miss...but also kinda shy. Next year we will have him carry a sign that reads: Hello Mom! And hello to all my "Giants of Prayer" back in the Albany diocese.

Evelyn,

I did meet Fran last year and enjoyed a lunch with her and Pat Dengler. We met halfway off of I88. We had a good extended lunch and found we had a lot to share in our life of faith. It was great. In fact she recently sent a guide to the Office of the Hours when I met with Fr. Michael for direction. So, yes I do know her and am glad that we met.

Oh! the Office of the Hours.... We need to get details about that prayer tool up on the blog. I will research the history, methodology,
intention, ect. What I love about Office of the Hours or The Liturgy of the Hours is that they are prayed simutaneously throughout the world, throughout the day.
