Last month at a restaurant in Ulster County where I waittress
I said to the Chef:  Congradulations...we had a great night!
He said:  Don't jinx me.
I said:  I'm Catholic...I don't believe in that sort of thing.
He said nothing.
I said:  I know you're wife is Catholic...what are you?
He said nothing.
I offered:  Stick with me for a bit...I'll help you figure it out.
He said:  I don't know what I believe.
I said nothing.
(I don't work there anymore.)

And yet it's sad. There are so many people like this man. They yearn for what they do not know. We too yearn for God but we do know Him. . . even though sometimes we forget. We'll pray for this man. You have planted a seed. Perhaps it's just not ready to germinate right now. It will. We'll have faith, even if he doesn't.
